FUN-FILLED activity days will be held for children through the Easter break to promote health and tackle obesity.
Camp Energy will run at the Perdiswell Leisure Centre from Monday April 5 to Friday April 16.
In Britain today, 8.5 per cent of six-year-olds and 15 per cent of 15 year olds are clinically obese.
Overweight children are more at risk of developing osteoporosis, diabetes and heart disease.
Regular exercise helps keep youngsters healthy and fit.
Activities will include hockey, basketball, football, badminton, parachute games and Kwik Cricket and will be available for children of all abilities.
Supervise
Qualified instructors will supervise children at the centre on Droitwich Road in Perdiswell.
Camp Energy is a national programme designed by Leisure Connection, which run the centre.
Ali Humphreys, sports development manager at Leisure Connection said: "It is a constant challenge for parents to occupy the children during the holidays.
"Camp Energy aims to provide stimulating and fun activities that won't break the bank."
Parents need to book their children in at the centre.
