Badsey Rgrs U-14 1, Southside 0

ONE of their best displays of the season helped Rangers retain their unbeaten Cheltenham League first division record.

Sunday's top of the table clash saw Badsey out for revenge after an earlier defeat and they made three early chances but failed to find the net.

However, the hosts were then grateful to some fine saves from Will Tyrrell as Southside hit back before the deadlock was broken six minutes before the break.

Jon Mather's deep cross was met at the far post by Ben Holland who had ghosted into direct a header back across the keeper and into the net.

With the wind in their favour, Badsey were favourites to take the points but Southside made it difficult for them.

Tyrrell was forced into another fine stop late on as the win lifted Rangers six points clear at the summit. Stefan Ellis was named Badsey's player of the match.
