SALFORD Priors residents can help shape the future of their village by having their say on the parish plan.

This weekend questionnaires are due to be delivered to homes in the area and villagers will be able to comment on any issue that concerns them - including transport issues and health services.

Parish council clerk Eric Mitchell said: "The Parish Plan is very important and the big thing is to get everybody to look at the questionnaire and fill it in. It covers everything from housing and education to health and transport.

"All the people have an opportunity to say what they think and the questionnaire is entirely anonymous so they can be as honest and open as they like. Transport could be a really big concern as it covers both young and old people.

He said: "People who have grown up here may be having difficulty finding homes in the area, so affordable housing could be another area of concern."

Residents will have around seven to 10 days to complete the questionnaire before the results will be collected and analysed by an independent company. The results are expected to be displayed within a month at the Memorial Hall.

Copies will also be sent to Warwickshire County Council and Stratford District Council before the five-year parish plan is drawn up based on the questionnaire results.

The annual parish meeting of Salford Priors Parish Council will be held on Tuesday, March 9 in the Memorial Hall at 8pm.

The district council will also be represented providing residents with the chance to discuss any matters of concern.
