BRITISH pop legend Alvin Stardust will be bringing his 50s Rock 'n' Roll Party to the Huntingdon Hall tomorrow night, Friday.

The veteran rocker will be paying tribute to some of the biggest names of the era, performing songs made famous by the likes of Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Bill Hayley, Chuck Berry and The Everly Brothers.

Alvin Stardust started his career under the name of Shane Fenton but shot to fame with his current moniker in the 1970s on the back of the single My Coo Ca Choo, which stayed in the charts for six months.

The idea for Alvin's current tour began when he recorded a live rock and roll album at Ronnie Scott's in 1996.

The tour is an attempt to recreate the original energy of rock with a stripped-down sound and a call for audience members to dress the part in a 1950s-style.

The concert starts at 8pm and tickets are £14 and £13 for concessions.

For last-minute bookings call the box office on 01905 611427.

The hall will be the venue for another big name in British rock when King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys arrive in Worcester next Thursday, March 11.

Tickets for the rhythm 'n' blues masters are £12 and are available from the box office.
