PUPILS were sent home from Salford Priors Primary School when a local fault cut the electricity supply to the school.
The power cut happened at about 7.30am on Monday and parents who arrived at the school were asked to take their children home again.
Some power did return during the morning and headteacher Pat Daly said she expected everything to be back to normal by Tuesday.
She said that parents' evening, which had been due to take place on Monday evening, would have to be postponed until next week.
"Normally, we would do everything we could to keep the school open and if it was not so cold, we probably would have done," she added.
