ANDY Keast has told Neil Cole -- 'go out and win yourself a Sixways contract,' writes MARK DOBSON.

The Worcester Rugby Club scrum-half, who is on trial after moving from Natal Sharks, has been handed his first start as the Warriors take on Penzance & Newlyn on Saturday (2pm).

The National One leaders go in search of their 21st successive victory as they take the long trip to Cornwall and have decided to give the promising South African his bow.

"From what we have seen of Neil so far, his passing is spot on," said coach Keast. "What we've been doing is giving him bit parts in games. Now is the time for him to start a match so we can have a proper look at him.

"He's on trial and needs to show us what he's capable of. At the end of the season we need to make a decision on him so we need to play him."

Cole replaces Matt Powell at nine for the clash, while Jon Hylton comes in for Wes Davies on the left wing. David Officer takes Ben Hinshelwood's place at centre because of his Six Nations duty with Scotland.

The pack is much the same to the one which featured at Henley last Saturday with the notable exception of Matt Evans' inclusion. The 21-year-old, who has impressed in short bursts this season, takes Drew Hickey's place at number eight.

The players, however, have been warned to sharpen up after leaking eight tries in their last two league outings. "The mental application to defence has to be better," added Keast.

"Players have to be focused and that goes for defending as well as attacking. The mindset has to be right because there is no game of rugby where you have a divine right to a majority of the possession.

"If teams don't kick the ball away and they're good enough to keep it then you have to be strong enough mentally to prevent them from scoring. You have to be prepared to graft and show a determination to defend properly.

"I don't think there's any complacency creeping in because they've performed well on the front foot. I just think it's a lack of focus and we've addressed it. The players are very keen to put that right."
