Four of the new Scuba diving students - Mike Glarvey, Tony Oliver, Luke Morris and Tod Holloway braved the cold weather on February 22 and took their first open water dive under the guidance of club instructors.
The venue was an inland dive site known as Stoney Cove, in Leicestershire. On the same day "open water diver" Kay Dalloway demonstrated other open water skills to further her training.
All new members received free training and free loan of equipment during their basic training. Try-a-dive and gift vouchers are available. For details telephone John Carmichael on 01562 753637 weekdays between 9am and 6pm.
Coming events include a "dive boat launch and recovery practice day" on March 14, a "pot dive" on May 23, and a "flares demo day" which will be arranged in the next few weeks.
Social events will include a pool knockout night and a casino night.
