The club meets on Tuesday evenings, usually playing a Mitchell movement over six or seven tables.
Phil Morgan had been unable to play for nine weeks following an accident, but returned in style when he and his partner, Wendy Duley, won the North-South position for the first two weeks, with scores of three per cent and six per cent ahead of their nearest rivals.
Charles and Vera Smith achieved their hat-trick, taking top place over the last three weeks.
The latest scores are: North-South C and V Smith 57 per cent, John and Barbara Northfield 53 per cent; East-West Steve Clifton and Nigel Wilkins (for the second week in succession) 64 per cent, Norman and Jo Hall 57 per cent.
