ANGELA Farrar fired a seven-shot salvo to steer her Bromsgrove team into the quarter-finals of the Margaret Ashford English National Two Wood Bowls Triples Championship at Basingstoke last night.
Farrar and her clubmates Margaret Stokes and Gillian Cliff swiftly recovered from the loss of a first-end treble against Maureen Emment's Lakeside trio from Norfolk.
Two successive trebles, later followed by a single and double, took Farrar 9-4 clear after six ends.
Back came Emment with five shots in three ends, drawing level at 9-9. Farrar was soon flying again, however, notching a treble and a double over three ends to lead 14-10 after the 12th end.
Emment clawed back a single at the next, but she had no answer to Bromsgrove's finishing blitz as Farrar swooped to conquer, stringing together two singles, a fabulous four and a single for a runaway 21-11 victory.
Farrar and company will now play England international Brenda Brown's Colchester team today for a place in the semi-finals.
