RGS Worcester fought hard but eventually lost their unbeaten record in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Sunday Indoor League when they went down by five wickets to Droitwich 'A'.

Tim Ohlson (28no) batted well for RGS along with two sons of former Worcestershire and England stars, Nathan Newport (25) and Miles Illingworth (23no) as they totalled 106-4 in their 12 overs.

Of the bowlers Karl Goddard took 2-29, Garry Cartwright 1-29 and Nigel Haddock 1-17.

But a rapid start by Paul Bryan (25 retired) and Jerome Connor (27 retired) put Droitwich in charge and Stuart Bryan (12no) and Haddock (11no) saw them home to victory with 10 balls to spare.

Droitwich 'B' also had a five-wicket win against Cutnall Green.

Green were indebted to Neil Evans (29no) and Dan Higgins (29) for being able to post a defendable total of 113-5, supported by Dave Shuck (15). For Droitwich Gareth Thomas (2-29) and Liam Fahy (1-22) were the successful bowlers.
