STRUGGLING Chaddesley Corbett have appointed Richard Downey as their new boss with Martin Westcott stepping down.
Downey, who has been leading Rock Sports in the Kidderminster and District League, will be a big success, according to Westcott who is now match secretary and assistant manager.
Chaddesley, who drew 1-1 with Malvern Town Reserves on Saturday, have struggled to make an impact in West Midlands League Division One South this season.
Westcott said: "Richard is a good motivator, a good organiser and is very popular with the players. The time is right for a change.
"He is the right man for the job and has my full support. He has built up a good reputation managing Rock Sports and I am sure this will continue in managing Chaddesley."
Depleted Chaddesley, with 17-year-old striker Adrian Passey and top scorer Chris Bow dropped back to midfield, turned in a good display at the weekend.
But Malvern took the lead through Danny White's penalty after Simon Hollock was ruled to have hand-balled following Mike Connolly's superb save.
Gary Middleton powered home a header from Richard Burton's corner to equalise before the break.
Chaddesley were unlucky not to take all three points in the second period with Neil Lucas working especially hard.
