CHESS: Kidderminster Chess Club's Frank Pickett won the Shuttle Shield for the first time, defeating Paul Thomas in the final.
Thomas missed the opportunity to break out of a constricted position on move 29 and Pickett took full advantage.
The town were held to a 2.5-2.5 draw at home to Redditch in Worcestershire League Division Two.
