EQUESTRIAN: A Stourport couple can boast the first British-bred or born American Quarter Horse Association champion.
Terrie Heid-Brazier, who hails from the USA, and husband Adrian Brazier have enjoyed great success with Docs Summer Sky.
The filly has scooped British titles in the Junior Horse Hunter Under Saddle, Junior Horse Western Pleasure and Three-year-old Mares Shown In-hand categories.
She has also added a British reserve national champion accolade in the Junior Horse Trail as well as being AQHA holder.
The association only hands the award to horses who have excelled consistently in many different events.
It was three-year-old Docs Summer Sky's first full year of showing, led by the world and national champion trainers.
Terrie has done well in the saddle with Docs Summer Sky but Adrian has also had a fine campaign showing one of his client's horses, three-year-old Zips Are Us.
They ended the year with the reserve national championship in Three-Year-Old Mares (shown in-hand) and were the Futurity champions, a class dedicated to young horses fathered by nominated stallions, in both Trail and Western Pleasure.
He also claimed Futurity reserve champion in Hunter Under Saddle and was the overall Futurity Hi-Point winner.
