HISTORY: Having made a profit on the year of £350 the committee of Moreton Local History Society is recommending to the annual meeting next Wednesday that the membership subscription remain at £5 for the year ahead. This year's annual meeting takes place at 7.30pm at the Congregational Hall instead of the usual venue, the WI Hall, where building improvements are in progress. The meeting will be followed by Mark Turner's picture show, Moreton Then and Now showing local buildings as they once were and are now.

The society's latest display, A Moreton Library, consists of books published by members, including two group compilations, Memories of Moreton and Four Shires Memories. An invitation to put on a local history exhibition in the public atrium of the Cotswold District Council offices in Moreton was accepted by the committee, which also agreed to organise a tour of the town in July, for the Stour Valley Farmers Weekly Farm Women's Club.
