Stripping down and rebuilding a Land Rover were just two of the challenges awaiting youngsters embarking on their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
The Tenbury High School youngsters also found themselves operating a tractor, welding, building a racing car, creating and developing drama performances and designing a robot vehicle to take part in Robot Wars.
All the activities made up their bid to acheive Bronze status with the scheme.
They also had to attend first aid courses, extra physical recreation and expeditions in the Forest of Dean.
The efforts of the 40 youngsters came off and, last Friday, the chair of the governors, Prue Winton, attended morning assembly at the school to present the students with their certificates.
