ANIMAL rights activists have posted the names and home addresses of high-profile personalities on a website in a bid to incite violence against them.
The former Bishop of Hereford, the Rt Rev John Oliver, and former commanding officer of the SAS, General Sir Peter de la Billiere, are two of more than 100 famous people targeted because of their perceived support for countryside pursuits such as hunting, shooting or fishing.
Under the headline "Celebrity Bloodsports Scum," the website - posted by a group calling itself Badgers Unknown - labels the people listed as "twisted perverts and walking advertisements for eugenics."
Billy Connolly and Harry Enfield are also named.
The former Bishop of Hereford is named because of his contribution to the Countryside Alliance book Liberty and Livelihood.
Senior figures of the Countryside Alliance are also on the website.
West Mercia Police said it was aware of websites of this nature and monitored their contents.
