YOUNGSTERS in Alcester have once again proved they have the gift of the gab after taking part in the annual Youth Speaks Concert, organised by Alcester Rotary Club.
Nine teams entered, including three from Alcester Grammar School, one from Alcester High School and two from St Benedicts.
Studley High had to withdraw its teams because of an Ofsted inspection.
The contest was again sponsored by Dynacast and each contestant received a trophy as a memento and a book token. The winners, from the Grammar School, also received a cheque for £200 for the school fund and will go on to the district final at Arden School, Knowle, on March 12.
The winning team, which spoke on the topic.
"Smoking in public places should be banned", was David Lawrence (chairperson), Rachel Drake (speaker) and Matthew Powell (proposer of vote of thanks).
