PUPILS from a Redditch school have donated more than £700 raised from their Christmas performances to the Alexandra Hospital.
Children from Vaynor First School, Headless Cross, raised the money as part of an ongoing programme of fund-raising for town organisations.
Headteacher Helen Hickman said: "The school is very proud of the children and their wish to donate the money to a good cause."
The money was presented to the hospital children's ward play specialist Emma Mander at a school assembly last Friday.
Mrs Mander said: "The children did really well to raise such a large amount of money.
"Other children who are poorly will benefit from their generosity.
"We're planning to buy toys for youngsters from 10 days old to 16 years old."
