A ROLEX gold watch worth nearly £4,000 was stolen from a jewellers in Rubery.

A man entered RF Collyer Jewellers in New Road on Thursday, February 19, at around 12.10pm and asked to look at some watches.

As the female sales assistant opened the drawer to take out a tray of watches the man pushed her out of the way and grabbed a watch and ran out of the store.

The offender is described as, 6ft tall, in his early 20's, slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey top with purple writing on it and Fred Perry jeans. He spoke with a Scottish accent.

The watch he stole was a man's gold Rolex valued at £3,750. It is described as a "scissor" style watch with a flexible link strap.

DC Jonathon Martin from Bromsgrove CID said: "The female assistant was scratched during this incident and was left feeling very shaken.

"We would appeal to anyone who has information regarding this incident or recognises the offender from the description to get in touch."
