ROMSLEY Parish Council has put it out in the parish magazine that all parents can now use the Sparrow's Nest public house car park to park their cars when visiting, taking and collecting their school children from the St Kenelm's School on the main Bromsgrove Road in Romsley village.

What parents should be told is that the brewery may have given special dispensation for this to occur but there is no insurance liability attached to it, repeat, no liability!

There is ample ground at the side of the school that can be purchased for a car park and therefore give parents and children safety. This should be discussed by Romsley Parish Council.

If a child now runs in front of a car on this private car park and is injured, who is then morally responsible? Plus the child should not be there anyway because they are not using the public house's facilities, ipso facto, the court, in the event of a claim would ask the parent why did you allow your child to use a car park that you knowingly knew could be dangerous given the very purpose of the car park is for users of the public house? The claim would therefore be possibly thrown out of court.

It would appear that the reason parents are not allowed to use the school car park for just a few minutes each day is because the school governors have stated this and the judgement is not to be swayed in any way, shape or form! The same reasoning seems to be used for the Romsley late bus service that we all want that the Romsley Parish Council co-elected councilors will not listen to, even though a petition of signatures has been sent through to them by myself and others in the village. A copy of this petition has now gone to the Worcestershire County Council for their observations and deliberations and now await a reply, hopefully for a trial bus service.

Whilst writing may I use this opportunity and ask all that want a late bus service after 6pm to visit and leave Romsley village for Halesowen and Bromsgrove areas, to contact me urgently because I feel that this will be the very last chance we will all get. If you have already signed a petition from one of the local shops in the village, please still contact me because it would seem that many of these forms have got lost before they got to my hands!

You can email me at francisuffdown

@waitrose.com and state your name. If others wish to add their names onto their email, that is acceptable. Please ensure you give your name and post code only.

Thank you on behalf of all villagers in Romsley that dearly want this late bus service.
