HEREFORD United's defence was praised after they won 3-0 at Telford United last night to close to within five points of Nationwide Conference leaders Chester City.
The win took the Bulls' goal tally to 12 in the last two games but midfielder Rob Purdie believes the two clean sheets are just as crucial.
He said: "It's more important than hitting 12 in two games. If we can come away from home and keep clean sheets, then we definitely have a chance of winning the title.
"The partnership of Tony James and Andy Tretton is very strong. The three of them at the back are very solid, and there are not many chances being given away, especially in the last few games."
