RAGLEY Hall will be hosting an extravaganza of music legends in the summer.

On June 26 and 27, the stately home in Alcester will be throwing open its doors to the hugely popular Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and Status Quo.

Jools will be wowing the crowds at his first Ragley Hall gig after three successful years performing at Charlecote Park.

The event, on the Saturday, is being supported by media sponsor the Worcester Evening News, sister paper to the Advertiser.

The Orchestra has evolved from the initial seeds in 1985 when Jools and his drummer Gilson Lavis began touring as a duo, into a disciplined 18-piece band capable of selling out all year round in Britain and in Europe.

But it won't just be the talents of Mr Holland that the audience can revel in as he will be bringing along superb songstresses Sam Brown and Ruby Turner.

The event, which promises to leave the audience breathless after Jools' energetic performance, is being bought to Alcester by IML Concerts.

Those who want to rock on Sunday night will be able to join Messrs Parfitt, Rossi and co, aka Status Quo, as they set Ragley on fire with their own brand of rock and roll.

With world-wide sales in excess of 112 million units and 22 top ten British hit singles, the Quo will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2005 and they still maintain a hectic annual tour schedule.

People are invited to grab their friends, bring a picnic and get ready to rock and roll.

Both nights will be rounded off by a grand firework display.

Tickets cost £27.50 in advance, £30 on the night. Children £17.50 in advance, £20 on the night. Group bookings of 10 or more will receive a 10 per cent discount.

Gates open at 6pm for a 7.45pm start. To book, call 01603 660444 or in person at Worcester Tourist Information Centre, Guildhall, High Street, Worcester.
