Coventry Marconi 1

Feckenham 0

"IT'S the best we played for a long, long time," was how Millers' boss Lee Adams summed up his side's defeat at the hands of Coventry Marconi in the challenge cup semi-final.

Feckenham are just one step away from a Challenge Cup final and Adams is confident his side can overturn the 1-0 deficit as they clash in the return leg at the Valley Stadium on Saturday, March 20.

"I was disappointed with the scoreline but I thought it was the best we played for a long, long time," said the Millers manager.

"We conceded after 15 minutes but from then on we bossed the game completely - we had about 15 corners and did everything but score," he added.

Feckenham did have the ball in the Marconi net after the break as Tom Madden weaved through the home side's defence, rode a dangerous tackle on the edge of the area and slotted past the keeper only for the referee to bring the play back for the free kick.

But such is Adams' confidence in his side at present he took the decision in his stride.

He added: "The referee did come over after the game and apologised, he did say he was too quick to blow his whistle and it's just human error in the end.

"We're very upbeat for the return."

As Adams was for last night's Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup semi-final away at Pershore.

He said : "I know they'll be up for it because it's the only thing they're left in.

"It'll be a close match, we beat them 6-0 earlier on in the season and they beat us 3-2 in their backyard."
