FOUR goals from Ashley Clarke helped Bromsgrove Hockey Club Men's First XI thrash West Midlands One basement side Kynoch 8-1.
Clarke bagged a first half hat-trick for Julian Court's side last Saturday and one after the break. Bevan Edwards also scored twice while Mark Robinson and captain Court got one apiece.
A chance at a first clean sheet of the season went following a late defensive blunder but Court was till happy to win.
The captain said: "It's nice to think that we can score that many. It was a good performance but we have played better. We could have scored more."
Bromsgrove, who also gave a debut to youngster Nigel Johns in defence, travel to Rugeley this Saturday. And Court has warned of complacency. He added: "We don't want to go there thinking we just have to turn up."
Bromsgrove Ladies Seconds' home match with Old Sils was called off as Old Sils could not raise a side.
