FORMER pupils at Dines Green Primary School, Worcester, are gearing up for its big 50th reunion, now that tickets have gone on sale.

The reunion, which is being organised by former pupil Dawn Stewart, is being held to celebrate the school's 50th anniversary.

People are being urged to buy their tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Mrs Stewart, aged 41, is still in contact with some of her primary school friends, and is looking forward to meeting up with pupils who attended the school from 1954 to 1984 to share their memories at the special celebration.

The celebration was originally booked to coincide with the school's 50th birthday on Monday, September 13, but the date has now been changed to Saturday, September 11.

"A lot of people rang me up asking if we have it on the weekend because they were at work,'" said Mrs Stewart, of Drake Avenue, Dines Green, Worcester,

"Also, children will be at the school on the 13th , so we wouldn't have been able to do anything on that day."

The reunion runs from 3pm to 11pm.

It will begin with a cricket match, followed by live singers, a buffet, a bar and a disco.

Children at the school will also be designing patterns on plates, and the winning one will go on display on the day.

Mrs Stewart, a mother-of-four, was a pupil at the school from the age of five to eight.

She has many fond memories of the school, and when she was five, she learnt to swim in an outdoor swimming pool there.

Tickets are £10 each, and can be bought from the reception at the school in Tudor Way, Dines Green, Worcester.
