NEW signing Danny Williams has the difficult task of replacing Sean Flynn in Evesham United's midfield.

The former Nuneaton Borough man goes straight into the Robins' squad for tonight's Dr Martens Western Division clash with Bromsgrove Rovers at Common Road (7.45).

Evesham boss Dave Busst admitted Flynn's departure for league leaders Redditch United was a blow, but his spirits were boosted by a return to winning form on Saturday against Bedworth United.

Big-spending Redditch proved too tempting for Flynn to turn down but Busst believes Williams will be a good signing.

"He's a different type of player and plays in a more advanced position in midfield," said Busst.

"Rovers are a strong side on the brink of the top seven and they need to press on to make sure they finish there so with we expect a close battle," he added.

Meanwhile, Rovers' boss George Rooney has Steve Frost available again but is without Chris Dawson who picked up two cracked ribs in Saturday's 3-0 win against struggling Swindon Supermarine.

In-form striker Paul Szewczyk, who emerged battered and bruised from a car crash last week to score two goals at the weekend, will lead the Bromsgrove frontline.

Evesham's hopes of a top seven finish floundered after three recent defeats but seventh-placed Rovers' ambitions remain very much alive.

Six points separate second to eighth spot.

"It's very tight at the top but everyone is in it for three points regardless of where they are in the league so tonight won't be easy," added Rooney.
