PLANS to build a new home at a property in Lower Broadheath could be given the go-ahead even though a similar application was refused months before.

A scheme has been registered with Malvern Hills District Council to build a detached house on land next to Rose Cottage, Martley Road, Lower Broadheath.

The site consists of parts of the garden and parking areas for Rose Cottage and formerly part of the garden area of 2, Green Lane to the rear.

The new home would be a four-bedroom "L" shaped building with a revised access plans, involving the closure of the road serving Rose Cottage.

Route

A shared route would then be created from the junction with Hallow Lane to serve both Rose Cottage and the proposed home.

Outline planning permission for a two-bedroom home was granted in January last year, but planners refused a subsequent application for full planning permission in June last year.

The latest application proposes a 41ft long building at its longest point and incorporating a simple pitched roof design with a relatively steep roof pitch.

Planners now feel the new proposal would not result in any significant harm to the street scene, residential amenity or highway safety and are recommending it is approved.

The plans will be considered at a meeting of the district council's northern area planning committee on tomorrow.
