THREE hundred and 42 children from 35 schools will arrive at Malvern College on Sunday, February 29, for the National Preparatory Schools Cross Country Championships which are being hosted by the College.

"We look forward to welcoming 32 boys' and 25 girls' teams from all over the UK," says Roger Brierly, a housemaster and PE teacher at the College.

"The terrain of the Malvern Hills lends itself to cross country running and the course we have prepared will provide a stiff challenge."

This will be the fourth time that Malvern Coll-ege has hosted this annual event which will start and finish on The Common adjacent to the school.

Entrants have to be under 13 at the start of the current school year. In 2005 it is intended to introduce a category for Under 11 cross country runners.
