A HEREFORD chicken processor has said it is too early to tell whether the bird flu outbreak in Asia will affect its business.
Sun Valley Foods employs 1,500 people at its sites in Grandstand Road and Yazor Road, in Hereford.
But the food processor said it was "too early" to know yet whether the bird flu will have an effect.
Imports
On Friday, Europe banned imports of chicken meat from Asia after eight people died.
Although the risk of the virus spreading to humans is very slight, there are fears the virus could spread to chicken flocks through imports of poultry meat.
"We have to wait to find out how it will affect supplies," said a Sun Valley spokeswoman.
" We are still waiting for clarification."
