WE'RE used to the good old 'title decider' every season but I'm not sure that the Orrell clash is exactly that.

It's a big game alright and Orrell have to be respected opponents. However, I think we have to look at this match as number 15 of the league campaign and nothing else.

We have beaten them already this season so we have nothing to fear from the game and we intend to go out there, be professional and enjoy ourselves.

The pressure is off us really. We travel there with a three-point lead over them in second spot and we know that they will be desperate to beat us. It's their cup final and they will be piling forward determined to claim that win.

I remember last season's clash at Edge Hall Road. It was absolutely freezing and we had a load of players out due to injury. We eventually lost the match when Orrell scored a try in about the eighth minute of stoppage time. It was a really bizarre experience but what's nice about Saturday is that we have, pretty much, a full squad to choose from.

Players such as Ben Hinshelwood weren't involved that day and I think that Ben will be looking to make a big impact against his Scottish international colleague Andy Craig. There are some really fascinating little subplots to the game. You have Drew Hickey and Wes Davies returning to their old club while Scott Barrow, an ex-Worcester player, will be on the opposite side.

Nothing, however, will be won on Saturday. There won't be any trophy to hold aloft for the victors because there is such a long way to go. That's why we have to be professional and treat it as any other match. We've won 14 from 14 this season so far by preparing properly and we're not going to change that for one game.

One thing's for sure, we couldn't be in better heart going into the match. We defeated Otley 38-3 on Saturday and kept our discipline in the wake of some extreme provocation. Drew said, after the final whistle, that it was like playing in France! He had his eyes gouged while he had the squeeze put on him downstairs! Needless to say, he wasn't best pleased.

It is always difficult when the opposition want to adopt those tactics. Our temperament was really tested but we came through with flying colours. The penalty count was really low and our players didn't pick up any cards. We were delighted with that, especially considering what had gone on in the opening game of the season at Cross Green. On that day we had a player sent off and one sin-binned after getting frustrated.

We learnt our lesson there and then and I think that was clear to see on Saturday because Otley came to provoke. They would have liked to see us lose our discipline but we didn't help them out on this occasion.

Personally, I was pleased with the way things went against Otley. My fitness is getting better all the time and I think the week before, without a game, did wonders for me because I was able to put in some hard fitness work. I was satisfied with the game on Saturday but I know I'm not 100 per cent yet. It will take some time but the good thing is that I'm feeling stronger after every game.

I've heard that the supporters are going to try and raise the roof at Edge Hall Road and I know that the players would appreciate their efforts. Last season at Rotherham they were exceptional and I'd like to think that they would want to do the same at Orrell because it really promises to be one to watch.

For the players it makes a real difference and the crowd can give you a huge lift, especially away from home.
