ON Boxing Day and the following day, Mr Arthur Hare is due at the Assembly Rooms in A Pair Of Spectacles. J M Barrie's popular work, Quality Street, will be produced here twice on Tuesday, December 29, by Messrs Addison Bright and Walter Maxwell's Company, per Mr J Bannister Howard, general manager of the Ben Greet Companies. Such important attractions should secure big houses. Booking as usual at Crudge's, Belle Vue Terrace. Malvern News, December 19, 1903.

The annual Dymock Christmas Market was held last Thursday, the rendezvous, as usual, being the infant schoolroom. The girls' room was used for refreshments and the entertainments were given in the boys' room. The market was formally opened by Her Grace, the Duchess of Hamilton, who made a tour of the market and, we are informed, made some purchases at every stall. Ledbury Free Press, December 22, 1903.

Before a large congregation at St Mary's Church, Hanley Castle, on Friday, the Rev Maurice Dean was instituted Vicar of Hanley Castle with Hanley Swan by the Bishop of Worcester. The year 1953 now drawing to its close will chiefly be remembered as the Coronation Year and for the great rejoicings that took place in Ledbury on that historic occasion. There were also many excellent local efforts for good causes, particularly the East Coast Flood Relief and lately, for the Westminster Abbey Appeal Fund. The vexed question of a War Memorial is still not settled and awaits the submission of a scheme to another public meeting. Ledbury Reporter, December 25, 1953.

The county property panel has decided to seek planning permission to change the use of the Redan, West Malvern Road, from a public house to a dwelling house.
