LONGDON'S new village hall will soon be kitted out with a new kitchen thanks to money from the lottery.
Longdon Church Women's Fellowship successfully bid for £4,336 from the lottery's Awards for All fund, which was set up to benefit small groups.
The money will go towards a microwave, kitchen base and wall units, worktops and panels, a refrigerator and kettles.
The hall itself was enlarged and renovated earlier this year. The old kitchen was declared unsafe, so the Women's Fellowship took it on themselves to come up with the money to refurbish it.
Sally Brookes, deputy chairman of the group, said she was absolutely delighted.
"It will be a lovely kitchen, we hope to get it fitted soon," she said.
