A Well-known Ledbury woman has died in a car crash.
Joan Robinson, aged 78, of New Street, was best known as the chairman of the popular Ledbury Evergreen Club and a great supporter of Arthritis Care
She died in a crash on the A438 Hereford Road just outside Ledbury on Friday at around 4.30pm.
She was driving a green Proton car from the Hereford direction when she was involved in a collision with a Peugeot 406, going the other way.
Mrs Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. An inquest opened in Hereford on Tuesday, and was adjourned.
A female passenger in the Proton suffered serious injuries. At the time of going to press, she was in intensive care at Hereford County Hospital where she was described as "critical but stable".
The driver of the Peugeot was taken to hospital but released the same day.
