young members of Worcestershire Operatic and Dramatic Society are about to bring a taste of jazz to residential homes around the area.
Fifteen performers, aged 11 to 17, will visit homes around Worcester and Malvern.
They will be visit the Touchstone Centre in Geraldine Road on January 14, Hastings Residential Care Home in Barnards Green on February 26, and the Malvern Theatres on March 28 with performances of cabaret show All That Jazz.
The show features songs from hit Broadway musicals as well as likes of New York, New York, They Can't Take That Away From Me and Me and My Shadow.
The youth section of the society, known as WODYS, was formed in 1982 and trains youngsters from eight to 18 years old in all aspects of theatre work.
As well as a series of workshops throughout the year, and an annual performance at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, the group has also performed a charity event at the Malvern Theatres.
Society chairman David Humphries said: "This year WODYS were asked to accept more bookings than can be fitted in. Homes for the elderly from Warndon to Kempsey and St John's to Malvern are among the venues. There's also a visit to a senior citizens club and a performance to a cancer support group."
Following performances of the cabaret, the group will begin preparations for its annual summer musical, this year entitled The Forbidden Planet, which will be staged at the Swan Theatre from August 3-7.
