A £1,000 reward has been offered for the arrest of vandals who threw a brick through the window of a train approaching Kidderminster station.
The driver suffered cuts to his face after the carriage was attacked last Thursday evening.
Now Central Trains and Network Rail have offered the bounty to find the culprits, who are believed to have struck the driver of another train just minutes before the incident.
Paramedics were called to the scene but the driver of the second train - from Leamington Spa - did not need hospital treatment.
Operations director for Central Trains Peter Cushing said: "This is a very serious matter and one which needs to be stamped out now. What the people responsible don't realise is that they are not only putting their own lives at risk, but also the lives of the train driver and the passengers on board."
Central Trains forks out £15,000 a month to replace broken windows smashed by vandals. Last year 120 people were killed on UK railways.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
