WEDNESDAY CLUB: A meeting took place in November entitled Butterflies. There are many different varieties of butterflies and moths around the world, explained Mr Paddy O'Brian of Broadway. From the age of 14, these have been his lifelong interest.
Mr O'Brian showed members a number of examples from different areas, explaining their life cycle and the dangers facing them. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Freda Slingsby.
Forty-six people sat down to the Christmas tea on December 3. Members were entertained on the piano by three members, Mr David Urry, Mr Norbett Halama and Mr Fredrick Jobson.
Committee members worked hard behind the scenes providing refreshments.
