REGARDING the article on St Catherine's Catholic Church, Droitwich, the gentleman who built the church and principal benefactor was Mr Loveridge Hodkinson of Rashwood Court, Droitwich.

His son, Henry Robert Hodkinson, son of the founder, provided the gift of the Chapel of St Richard with its mosaics in 1938.

Henry was also the gentleman who reset the piece of tessellated pavements that was found in the Roman Villa at Bays' Meadow, Droitwich.

He reset it piece-by-piece as the Romans had done many years ago - and a wonderful job he did in order to preserve it.

Alas, his name was not put on this ancient pavement to give him the credit. It is now in the Droitwich Heritage Centre.

E COPSON, Droitwich.
