PEOPLE forget that speed is a major cause for accidents in this country.
The priority for the police is to protect life. By introducing cameras on roads such as City Walls road and in other areas they will be able to achieve some degree of protection as people will be more conscious of their speed.
Those who are "caught" complain as they know that if they are caught it is their fault. What irritates me is those that put blame on the council and police for placing the cameras, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions.
The strange thing is you can hardly miss them when they are on the road, so if those that are caught must have been going so fast that they did not see them.
Everyone knows the penalties for driving too fast when they get behind the wheel. If you don't like it, take a taxi.
