COLWALL 2, BADGERS 0

COLWALL followed up their 3-1 win against Wootton Bassett in Severn Division Two with a 2-0 defeat of Badgers at the Ledbury Leisure Centre on Saturday.

The first half saw an end to end match with the Colwall defence, and in particular Emma Twigg and Laura Entwhistle, playing well to deny the Badgers a goal they probably deserved.

Badgers had a chance to take the lead shortly before half time when they were awarded a penalty flick which was well saved by Colwall goalkeeper Carole Ward.

Colwall came out for the second half in a positive frame of mind and skipper Lucy Halligan showed the way with a brilliant solo goal soon after the restart. Colwall had many more opportunities with Cathy Clements and Gemma Richards all coming close to adding to the score. Lucy Halligan finally scored the second goal with a good shot from a short corner, and was unlucky not to get a hat-trick when she hit the post soon afterwards.

Colwall's next league match is against Blockley on November 1, with a friendly against Ross on October 25.
