Plans have been lodged to convert a large house in Abbey Road, Malvern, into a day nursery.
The nursery will have a computer room, a library and a baby room as well as nine classrooms. A craft workshop is also planned.
The building, which was previously Malvernbury Nursing Home, will accommodate an estimated 62 children and will employ 20 staff including the manager.
The outside of the building will not be altered in any way and no changes are planned to the second floor.
The applicant is Dr Kandiah Rajah, from Moseley in Birmingham. He said: "I had heard that there was a need for nursery facilities in the area and this building is perfect for the job. It will not need a great deal of work doing so the cost should not be too high."
Work on the property will begin as soon as permission is granted. The application is in the hands of Malvern Hills District Council.
