FORMER Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has been causing a stir on a visit to the Malvern area on holiday.
She stayed at the Cottage in the Wood, in Malvern Wells, together with friends.
Lady Thatcher, who celebrated her 78th birthday on Monday, visited the Elgar Birthplace Museum at Broadheath, the Anne Frank exhibition at Hereford Cathedral and Royal Worcester Porcelain.
She also visited Weston's Cider Visitors' Centre, in Much Marcle.
Lady Thatcher was shown around by managing director Helen Thomas, before enjoying lunch at the restaurant.
Mrs Thomas said: "No one knew of her visit, so as I led her through our Henry Weston Garden towards the shop, a few jaws dropped!
"She was so charming, we were just very honoured she took the time out of her holiday to make an unofficial visit."
