A MALVERN businessman has said he is disappointed after a planning application to redevelop his firm's premises was refused
Miller Tyre Services had applied for permission to demolish and reconstruct the existing building, in Edith Walk, but the scheme was turned down by Malvern Hills District Council at a planning meeting on Wednesday.
The site is within Great Malvern's conservation area, and members did not feel that the industrial design of the building enhanced or preserved the area.
Owner Mark Miller said after the meeting: "We felt a bit let down by it all, to be honest. It's a family business in town and we bring people into the area.
"It is just a tyre depot, so it can't really be that fancy and I think it is in keeping with neighbouring buildings."
Mr Miller will now have three months to consider whether he will submit new designs or appeal against the refusal.
