ANCHOR FALCONS 2,

BREWERY BLUES 2

PAUL Park struck twice in the final five minutes to rescue a point for Anchor Falcons in this Worcester Sunday Division Four encounter at Dysons.

After struggling to overcome a resilient Brewery side for much of the game, and being reduced to ten men when Mike Berry was forced off due to injury after all three substitutes had been used, the points appeared to be drifting away from the Falcons.

In an enterprising opening 20 minutes both sides went close to taking the lead but defences generally came out on top and keepers Shane Oseman and Ally Barnes were equal to anything that did come there way.

It took until the 54th minute for the deadlock to be broken when a long goalkick by Barnes fell kindly for the Blues striker to beat the advancing Oseman. Ten minutes later it was 2-0 when a beautiful curling shot evaded Oseman.

Lacking creativity the Falcons made changes with Russ Collins and Rich Lambert entering the fray and this at least provided some impetus. Despite several near misses the Falcons struggled to make an impact, until Park started his solo show. First he collected a ball 25 yards out, burst through the defence and shot past the keeper and then with minutes remaining his leftfoot blast from 25 yards went inside the far post.

- Tomorrow (Saturday), the Falcons are holding a fun day at the Anchor to raise funds for the club. Starting at 2.30pm there will be a number of stalls, including a tombola, raffle, beat the goalie and play your cards right.

Everyone is welcome, entry is free and there will be a disco on in the evening.
