WELLAND ATHLETIC 4, FERNHILL HEATH SPURS 1

AFTER a lacklustre display against Bransford the previous week, where the only sparkle came from Ally Fitch and Adam Lacey on their debuts with Fitch scoring in a 1-1 draw, Welland bounced back and overwhelmed their visitors.

Reverting to a 4-4-2 formation, the defence of Radnor, Thackeray, utility player Fitch and captain Jelleyman looked comfortable, whilst Derrington and Craddock's runs up front caused constant threats.

Craddock took one of five possible chances for Welland within 30 minutes, but just before half time both Wray and Derrington made it comfortable with good goals to give Welland a 3-0 lead.

Spurs came out for the second half determined to redeem themselves and Harrison beat the Welland offside trap and beat keeper Blakeway with a well taken goal. After a ten minute difficult spell for Welland, Craddock notched his second and Welland's fourth after good work in midfield by Tom Holland and Ben Nineham.

Welland, sponsored by Upton's Bio-Diagnostics, play away to Goodrest Sports in Worcester tomorrow (Saturday).
