A 73-year-old man who had a history of depression was found hanging from a loft, an inquest heard.
Harry Lee even scribbled directions along the hallway to where he could be found, Worcestershire Coroner Victor Round said.
Mr Round said Mr Lee was a divorced man who had recently lived with a partner in Woodbury Road North, Stourport-on-Severn.
The coroner said Mr Lee was found dead by police on Wednesday, October 8, at the Stourport home after officers were contacted by relatives of Mr Lee's former partner.
Depression
"The deceased was found on the upper floor hanging from a loft space," said Mr Round. "He had a history of depression. He had recently lost a case in the small claims court.
"His relationship with the partner whom he had been living had been terminated."
At the Stourport inquest held yesterday, Mr Round said when officers came to the house they broke down the front door.
The coroner said the cause of death was hanging, and recorded a verdict that Mr Lee took his own life.
