SCHOOLBOY DJ Richard Oakley makes his debut behind the decks at a Kidderminster pub on Saturday in aid of a children's charity. 14-year-old DJ Richard Oakley prepares for his charity disco.
Richard, 14, has been disco-mad for years, saving up his pocket money to buy professional equipment.
And on Saturday he gets his big break - when he spins the discs at a charity event he has organised himself in aid of Childline.
The youngster, a pupil at Baxter College, hopes to pull in a good crowd to support the charity, which provides a helpline offering advice to children in need.
His proud dad Malcolm said he couldn't wait to show off his skills.
"He's bought lots of the equipment and absolutely loves music. He plays all types of music, from the 1950s to the modern dance tracks. He can also play the keyboard and reads music - we're very proud of him."
Richard makes his debut appearance at the Sutton Arms pub in Sutton Park Road, Kidderminster, from 8pm until 11pm. The event will also feature a lucky dip, raffles and other events organised by Childline. All proceeds from the night will go to the charity.
