Badsey Ladies 0, Harborne II 2

SATURDAY saw a much better performance by Badsey who were unlu-cky not to get a share of the points.

They were slow to get into their stride and Harborne put them under considerable pressure during the first 15 minutes but the defence held firm with player of the match Fiona Baldelli making some superb saves.

The home team then began to play their way into the match with some good passing moves and strong running. However, an unfortunate defensive error allowed the visitors to take the lead with a scrappy goal before half-time.

In an evenly matched second half, Badsey raised their game further. They kept possession of the ball well and were unlucky not to score on more than one occasion.

Five minutes from time, a speculative shot from the edge of the circle sque-ezed past Baldelli off a post to give a final scoreline that wasn't a true reflection of the match.

Badsey take on Redditch at Redditch RUFC on Saturday, pushback 3.30pm.

EVESHAM'S ladies also suffered a defeat despite a fine display from goalkeeper Charmaine Mitchell.

Bourneville took the lead but a penalty flick from Kayleigh Hateley levelled matters.

However, two more goals were conceded and Carol Cherry's late effort was mere consolation.
