A Spa-based Information Technology (IT) consultancy is taking the trend for text messaging to a new level with an innovative service for businesses.

Gold Arrow Systems, in Worcester Road have introduced the reactext, which enables organisations to contact its workforce, volunteers or clients by text message, which can be sent from a desktop PC.

The system has been trialled by the St John Ambulance at the Notting Hill Carnival and Glastonbury Festival, to send messages to many volunteers at once, using a key word from a PC.

It is also used effectively by estate agents to send property details to househunters over mobile phones.

David Pride, Gold Arrow's UK Manager said: "Unlike text advertising the reactext costs the individual the same as a normal text message, about 10p.

"Businesses can use this service to send out information immediately to those people that request it, or to co-ordinate their workforce. It can be used by anyone needing to communicate information instantly, reliably and cost effectively ."
