DEAR EDITOR - I was interested to read of Mrs Preece in a recent Memory Lane having a painting of the Merchant House by Tom Gibbs.
I also have a painting of the Merchant House by the same man. Mine is a watercolour and was given to me as a present for my 21st birthday, 31 years ago.
Mr Gibbs also painted the 49 church steps as a wedding present for my cousin.
He was a well-known and well-liked local artist who lived in Dordale Road in Bourneheath. His many paintings, I'm sure, are still viewed with much pleasure!
