BROMSGROVE Rovers counted the cost of their FA Cup success with a 1-1 Dr Martens Western draw at Sutton Coldfield Town last night.

Rovers were missing goalkeeper Paul Wyatt and defender Dave Benton, both in injured in last Saturday's 2-0 victory at Congleton, and were poor in the first half.

George Rooney's side were behind on 11 minutes when Kevin Banner's poor defensive header was seized by Dean Perrow and he slid the ball under Ian Gandy.

Sutton, justifying their high league position, had further chances before the break, the best falling to Emeka Ejiofor who volleyed just over.

Rovers' best effort of the half came right on half time when Mark Benbow was denied by Justin Bray following good work by Michael Swan, making his debut, and Danny Scheppel.

The visitors were better in the second period and equalised on 54 minutes when Grant Beckett delivered a corner and Steve Frost headed the ball between Bray and the post.

Bray mis-kicked a clearance to Peter Sutton on 76 minutes, but the Rovers striker put the ball wide of the post.
